About Us

AcuTemp Thermal Systems

The mission of AcuTemp Thermal Systems began taking shape over 20 years ago when Keith and Chris Meyer were working in a third-world country. The father and son team witnessed the spoilage of life-saving biologics, vaccines, and medicines due to poor temperature management during transit. Upon returning to the United States, the Meyers began development of a temperature controlled container for shipping vaccines and other medical materials and supplies so they would arrive at their destination at The Right Temperature®.

Other innovative technologies and products soon followed and AcuTemp Thermal Systems became a leading supplier of thermal management solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and public health industries. AcuTemp is also a trusted partner for the United States Department of Defense, having been engaged numerous times to develop products that help meet the critical challenges of battlefield medical care. Through the years, AcuTemp's continuous dedication to offering live-saving, innovative solutions has further solidified its position as a leader in the cool chain industry. When shipping temperature sensitive materials, trust the experts. Trust AcuTemp.

The mission of AcuTemp Thermal Systems is to design and manufacture reliable products for the storage and transport of temperature sensitive goods that enhance or save human life.

Core Performance

The key to every AcuTemp product’s performance is the unmatched insulating efficiency provided by ThermoCor® vacuum insulation. Backed by two decades of research and innovation, ThermoCor boasts superior insulating properties that translate into longer hold times and superior temperature control.

Here’s how ThermoCor stacks up against the most commonly used insulating materials on a per inch thickness basis.

Leader

AcuTemp Thermal Systems is responsible for numerous advancements in thermal management and cold chain technologies. These include:

  • The development of ThermoCor high performance vacuum insulation which incorporates features that significantly retard all four basic heat transfer mechanisms: conduction, conduction through fluids and gases, radiation and convection.
  • The design and development of the first battery and AC powered portable refrigerator/freezer equipped with electronic controls and alarm systems to actively monitor temperature inside the container.
  •  The development of a unique one-piece vacuum insulated lining for parcel-sized shipping boxes and carriers to provide thermally improved performance over other insulation types and configurations.
  • The development of the AcuTemp RKN, the first and only compressor-driven pallet-sized air cargo container to receive approval by both the FAA and EASA aviation authorities.
  • The deployment of the REPAQ™ reuse program for passive shippers, the only one that actually retests the thermal integrity of each qualified shipper before reuse.

Pharma/Biotechnology

Pharmaceutical companies are under relentless pressure to reduce pharmaceutical shipping costs and ensure their products are handled properly throughout the cold chain. To meet the industry’s stringent requirements, AcuTemp develops insulated shipping containers that provide the Peace of Mind™ of uncompromised hold time performance while offering a low total cost of ownership.

Medical Device

AcuTemp’s ability to adapt to unusual insulated packaging requirements affords our medical device customers with the benefit of having fully customized insulated shipping containers. Not only do medical devices come in all shapes and sizes, they also have very specific thermal management requirements and may require very specific protective packaging strategies.

Public Health

With a reputation of superior hold time performance, AcuTemp insulated shippers, carrying cases, and mobile refrigerator/freezer units are entrusted to maintain exacting temperature ranges in the transport of vaccines, drugs, specimens and other bio-medical materials. Some of the world’s largest organizations rely on AcuTemp insulated containers to provide precise temperature control and superior hold time performance throughout the cold chain distribution cycle.

Military Medical

AcuTemp’s mobile refrigerated units are designed with specific military applications in mind. When it comes to providing reliable thermal management in the delivery of biologics and medicines in the harshest of conditions, even on the field of battle, AcuTemp delivers. Designed in accordance with the military’s strict standards (such as MIL-STD 810F), our actively powered insulated containers provide the superior hold time performance necessary for the potentially life-saving applications in which they are used.

Transportation Logistics

Designed to meet the most stringent air cargo shipping protocols, AcuTemp’s versatile cold chain solutions enable freight forwarders, airlines, 3PLs and logistics providers to ship temperature critical materials around the world with greater assurance than with any other thermal management provider.
